going home soon...

We've now been here just over two and a half days (two of them with Porter), and are still ever so happy and tired.
Here are a couple more photos taken overnight:
Mommy and son sharing a moment.

Our first really good cry! Porter didn't settle for a very long time over night. He spent a number of hours being warmed by Mommy, before she got a sleeping break, and Daddy followed on. After a couple more early morning hours of swaddling attempts, diaper changes, and a very large meal, he finally gave our ears a rest.

Porter's zeroth birthday.

On Thursday morning, Sept. 27th at 7:33 am,  we transformed our relationship from protracted honeymooners, to full-on parenthood! We would like to welcome you to our first child, Porter Newman. Currently weighing in at 6 lbs. 14 oz., and 19 inches in length. He's not quite ready for the heavy-weight championship of the world, yet.  All in all, not bad for a baby that was born 3 and a half weeks early.

Ivy and Porter are doing great considering the eight and a half hours of labor.

He's almost in his full birthday suit.
